It was a weekend with some solid highlights on our end. We made some adjustments to the geometry of the bike from FP to the Superpole, as well as some changes to the mapping of the engine. It felt like we made a step forward and I was comfortable fighting for the Top15 in qualifying. I lost a bit my pace when another rider cut me out from the group, but on my last flying lap I still managed to improve.
In race 1, we confirmed that we were working in the right direction. I defended my position at the beginning, staying in the top-15. The group I was in had a rather solid pace and I got to set my fastest lap of the weekend that far. I thought we could push for a similar result on Sunday, and we did get off with the right foot. However another rider made me crash out, so I couldn’t bring home any points.
Overall I have to say that Honda and the team’s hard work is starting to pay off, so I’m eager to continue in this direction.
