2024 WSSP Cremona, weekend
It was an intense weekend at Cremona, with highs and lows throughout the three days. Friday started off with some challenges as the track was partially wet in the morning, which delayed the opportunity to put in fast laps. However, by the end of the session, I started to find a good feeling with the bike, and we were able to gather useful ideas for the Superpole. In the afternoon, things were looking promising, but unfortunately, I had a small crash that cost us some valuable time. The team did an excellent job repairing the bike, and I managed to get back on track just in time to improve my lap time. The classification was quite tight, and it was clear we were in for some close battles on Saturday.
Unfortunately, Saturday didn’t go as planned. I had a good start and quickly worked my way closer to the points zone, but my race came to an abrupt end when I was taken out by other riders who crashed right in front of me and I could not avoid them. It was disappointing, especially since we had a decent pace and the potential to reach the top 10. It was a missed opportunity, but I stayed focused on giving it another shot on Sunday.
Sunday brought more frustration. I crashed out on turn two at the beginning of the race. Although I managed to restart, by that point, the group was too far ahead to catch up. Leaving Cremona without a result is disappointing, but we’re determined to keep pushing. We’ll take the lessons learned from this weekend and come back stronger next week in Aragón.
