This was my first round in the World Super Sport Championship and I certainly learnt a lot. Race one included a compulsory pit-stop for everyone, to change the tyres. It sure was an exciting challenge and we were in the points, but unfortunately I crashed out with just for laps to go. I was forced to retire due to the damage, and I have to say I was disappointed not to take my first points home.
On Sunday, on the other hand, it took a while before we could get race 2 started, due to an oil spill earlier in the morning. In the end the race was shortened to 9 laps. We focused on maintaining a consistent pace and built on the weekend’s data to continue working on the development of the bike. I’m looking forwards to the next round in Barcelona, in order to work again with the team and Honda on this project.
