Most was also a new track for me and on Friday we tried a different set up option in the free practice. Unfortunately it did not feel quite right for the conditions of this weekend, so we had to use part of the Superpole to adjust the Donington Park setting at our best. On Saturday we used the warm up to fix the gearing, to be ready for the first race. On the first lap I lost a lot of time because there was a massive crash right in front of me. In order to avoid the other riders, I had to go onto the gravel. Afterwards it was all about recovering as many positions as possible. I had a couple of fun battles and the information was useful to be ready for Sunday.
On the last day, it was the hottest day of the weekend and we did some adjustments to improve my feeling with the bike in these conditions. In the race, I had a great first lap: my start was solid and I managed to stay out of the tumbles in the first few corners. I was fighting for the points, riding as smoothly as possible with hot conditions. However, all of a sudden the bike stopped working on turn 15 and there was not much that I could do. It’s a shame because we could have fought for a decent result this time around. We’ll check with the team what happened and work for the next round.
